There’s an exciting new foodie experience coming to Kennebunkport, Maine. Table is poised to bring delicious, and interesting culinary programs to our coastal Maine community.
Located in the building that used to house Abbondante at 27 Western Avenue in Kennebunk’s Lower Village, Table is offering cooking classes, events and dinners that showcase the popular farm to table movement and the local foods of Maine’s south coast. In addition to food, they will be offering classes and events that allow you to sip your way through cocktails, wines and local craft brews.
Table’s mission is simple: Taste. Learn. Celebrate. And some of Kennebunkport’s best chefs are helping to do just that. We attended a cocktail reception at Table last night as part of this year’s Christmas Prelude activities. Chef David Turin from David’s KPT was on hand with his AMAZING Asian Pork rolls and a fresh oyster bar. Did you know oysters are a lot like wine? They don’t all taste the same! David is a master at sourcing the best New England has to offer and his Oyster Bar at David’s KPT is a firm guest favorite. Also on hand last night was Beverage Director Joel Souza of David’s KPT mixing a couple of signature cocktails. Our favorite was mixed with marmalade and prosecco; it was fresh and wonderful. We ended the evening with the Chai Bourbon. A nice warm, spicy drink that was a perfect change from the standard Irish Coffee. In the main dining room, Chef Justin Walker of Earth had laid out a banquet of farm fresh vegetables. The roast brussel sprouts, still on the stock, were the best we’ve ever had! Finally, Chef Pierre Gignac of Ocean was also on hand making appetizers and hors d’oeuvres that were passed around by attentive wait staff. Table promises to provide a five star culinary experience and last night gave everyone a good taste of what’s to come.
Upcoming classes kick off in 2016 with “Big Reds and Angus Beef with Erica Archer of Wine Wise and Chef Pierre Gignac of Ocean” on January 23, 2016 at 6pm. The five courses will be prepared by Chef Gignac with full-bodied red wine pairings by Erica Archer. Sounds perfect to us! The cost is only $95 per person and includes dessert, coffee and tea and a Table gift bag with recipes.
To get into the spirit of Kennebunkport’s Paint the Town Red in February, Chef David Turin will be hosting a “Like Water for Chocolate” – A “How-to” for a Romantic Meal for Two on February 6th. Drawing inspiration from the book “Like Water for Chocolate”, Chef Turin will create a romantic meal including Cornish Hens in Rose Petal Sauce. Sparkling wine pairings and a red rose for each guest top off this special evening.

UPDATE AUG, 2017: Table has closed. A new restaurant, Pearl and Spat Oyster Bar are now in the building and a great place for seafood!
