Enjoy Live Entertainment at Vinegar Hill Music Theater

Now entering their third year, Vinegar Hill Music Theater brings live entertainment to the Kennebunk’s all season long.  Located in Arundel Maine, a short five minute drive from our Bed and Breakfast, this historic venue offers live comedy, authors and music from May through October.

Located in the old Arundel Barn Playhouse, the building has been updated with new balcony seating, full service bar and updated acoustics and sound system.  The barn was originally built in the late 1800’s and has been known for years by locals as the Smith Sisters Farm after the last members of the Smith family to live there, sisters Marcia and Angelia.

The 2018 season is featuring music from many notable performers and is a great walk through the history of music.  Rita Coolidge (OMG, love her) performs Sept 15th.  Jim Messina, of Buffalo Springfield and Loggins and Messina fame takes to the stage July 13th.  Lee Rocker of Stray Cats fame is Rocking this Town on July 15th.  And taking us back even further are the legendary Gatlin Brothers who perform on July 22nd.

The music spans Broadway show tunes (and performers), Irish tenors, rock, country, blues, french cabaret jazz and flamenco.  They also have some top notch tribute bands scheduled to perform featuring the Beatles and Prince.  Cary Hoffman delivers an autobiographical one-man memoir/musical entitled “My Sinatra” on August 4th.  On August 24th, “Piano Men – The Music of Elton and Billy” is a tribute to the amazing songs of Billy Joel and Elton John.  Performed with a full orchestra, this show pays homage to these two wonderful talented piano players and their music.

July 19th features R-Rated Hypnotist Frank Santos, Jr.  This is a performance where the audience becomes part of the show.  A Hypnotist/Comedian, Frank can make you believe that you are a singer, dancer and more.

On Aug 9th, comedian, author and radio personality from the critically acclaimed NPR’s Snap Judgement, James Judd takes the stage.  He worked the stand-up circuit until age 30 and then decided to go to law school to become a criminal defense attorney.  He is still licensed in New Hampshire.  He’s back to his stand up roots now.  The Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester NY likens him to “David Sedaris on a pot of coffee”.  A must see.

Mike Super – Magician Extraordinaire! is playing on August 17th.  Mike was the winner of the NBC show “phenomenon” and a top finalist on “America’s Got Talent”.  Penn and Teller featured him on their season premier episode of Penn & Teller’s “FOOL US”.  If magic and illusion is your thing, this is one to see!

Tickets can be purchased from the Vinegar Hill website and range in price from $20 upwards depending on the act and the seating location.  You can contact their box office at (207) 985-5552 with any questions.
