Bandaloop food

Bandaloop, Kennebunkport

Bandaloop has always been our favorite Kennebunkport restaurant.  Our guests really enjoy it here as well.  Owned by Chef Scott and his wife Bridget, their focus is on preparing dishes using local and organic ingredients in a casual and eclectic atmosphere.  My favorite is the macaroni and cheese.  I know, not really gourmet food, but Scott does amazing things with this dish.  Made with organic Vermont cheddar with a hint of basil and topped with broccoli, this is a meal on it’s own.  Go for the half portion which is more than enough for most of us!  The menu has a good mix of vegetarian, fish/seafood, chicken and meat to suit just about everyone.  And if you are vegan, let Scott know.  He’s got several dishes for you too.  There’s a full bar and a nice wine list (something for vegans there too).  Only a 10 minute walk from the Inn – this is our go to restaurant!

Portland Chef David Turin opened his David’s Kennebunkport in spring of 2013 and has quickly become a firm favorite in Dock Square.  Situated along the river, the atmosphere is friendly and lively.  Seating is offered at either of the two bars, at tables in the dining room or out on the deck along the water.  The menu is varied offering something for everyone with a nice wine list.  David’s also features Kennebunkport’s only raw bar.  Stop in for lunch or dinner – or enjoy Happy Hour.  They don’t take reservations so expect a wait during the busy season.  A 10 minute walk from the Inn.

50 Local

50 Local, Kennebunk

50 Local in Kennebunk is a casual bistro style restaurant with a menu created from locally sourced ingredients.  Chef David Ross’ menu changes daily and offers a nice variety to choose from.  Fish from local fisheries, Maine seafood and oysters on the half shell, salads made from fresh local greens, soups and meat dishes round out their offerings.  Save room for dessert, the Beignets are delicious!  Their cocktails are innovative and interesting and their wine and beer lists have a good selection to choose from as well.  50 Local is on Main Street in Kennebunk, a 10 minute drive from the Inn.

A particular favorite with our ‘city’ guests is Earth.  Created by Boston Chef Ken Oringer, their focus on farm-to-fork freshness is achieved by sourcing local Maine meats and seafood and using organic produce grown in their gardens.  Their wine list offers a good selection.  The atmosphere here really is amazing with a blend between indoor and out.  Set along the pond with wood walls made from trees sourced from the site, an upside down apple tree serves as a chandelier and the soft ambiance of candlelight make dining here a very unique experience.  Reservations are required and they book up quickly.  Located near Goose Rocks Beach, they are a 15 minute drive from the Inn.

That’s just a starting point on great restaurants!  Please call the Inn if you have any questions about where to dine when you are staying with us.  We are more than happy to make reservations and recommendations for you.
