Kennebunkport Festival & Historic Inn Garden Party

The annual Kennebunkport Festival is coming up June 8th – 13th and the Historic Inns of Kennebunkport are celebrating with our annual Garden Party on Saturday, 12th June from 1:30 – 4:00pm!  Our theme this year will once again be “A Taste of Maine”.  Chefs from the five inns will be serving Maine wines and beer along with specialty Maine cheeses, homemade whoopie pies and assorted hors d’oeuvre’s.  Regular guests know the secret is to start your Inn tour here at the 1802 House for our mini lobster rolls.  The Garden Party is open to guests of the Historic Inns only with transportation provided between the properties.  Tickets are complimentary and provided by the Inns for our guests on the Saturday, but accommodations are booking up fast so reserve your room now.

The Kennebunkport Festival is an annual celebration of food, wine and art and is a great way to kick off summer in the Kennebunks.  Tickets are required for all other Festival events and can be purchased or requested here.

Many local residents open their beautiful homes and host dinners prepared by local Maine chefs.  These are very popular evenings filled with good food and wines and already selling out. Other events feature art shows and cocktail receptions at local Kennebunkport restaurants and galleries.  Chef Jonathan Cartwright and his team will serve dishes al fresco using local seafood, farm-fresh vegetables, grilled and roasted meats, wines, and cocktails and will be on-hand to tell you about their origins, ingredients, and the perfect wine pairing.

A perennial favorite event is Brews and Tunes on the Village Green on Ocean Ave.  This year’s theme is “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” and features Spencer Albee with special guests, Kat Wright & the Indomitable Soul Band who are guaranteed to provide an afternoon (rain or shine!) of excellent live music. Gates open at 1:00 and music starts at 2:00. There will be food trucks, vendors, and a lot of fun.

Also, think about checking out the after parties at Pedro’s (we love their margarita’s) Stripers (amazing views over the water) or Abbondante.  The after parties are complimentary, but you still need to get tickets for each event online to be able to attend.  Demand is high with many of the events already selling out so book soon!

The Festival ends this year with a Tour de Cure event on Sunday, 14th July at Wells Reserve, 342 Laudholm Farm Road, Wells, ME 04090.  This charity bike ride is a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association.  There are currently 63 teams and 533 riders registered so this promises to be a great day for charity and riders alike.

We hope to see you in early June!
