This February, the Kennebunks are made for lovers. The two towns offer an unforgettable romantic getaway as restaurants, galleries and shops welcome people with a special calendar full of events, specials, and sales throughout the whole month.
Kicking the month off on Saturday, February 1st, one of our favorite spots in town will be offering a small group cocktail class. Get behind the bar with some of the best in the business and create your new favorite drink. We know that February isn’t just for the romantics- whether your a wearing a Chiefs jersey or 49ers one, head to the Souper Bowl at Maine’s Classic Car Museum, where you can pair fantastic local soups with even better wine, check out the expansive car collection the day before the big game.
Take it easy on Sunday and get ready to head into the week, then head to Alisson’s on Monday at 6 for Paint (Party) the Town Red- a paint party hosted by local artist Dawn Burns, make an evening of it with your date or your friends and create your own special masterpiece.
The fun continues with a special dinner at Old Vines on Wednesday, the 12th- a little french flare to add even more romance to your week away, with their chef and wine director working together for some unforgettable pairings. The White Barn Inn will be hosting a few Valentine’s Day Dinners, one on Thursday the 13th, and another on the big day, and a final one on Saturday, the 15th. A candlelit dinner in their restored barn, consistently named the most romantic restaurant in New England. This one is not to miss so be sure to make a reservation if you’re interested! If casual dining is more suited for you, head to Alisson’s for a Valentine’s Giving Tree- each table has a red envelope with a special prize for you along with amazing food and great service.
Saturday the 15th is definitely not a day you’ll want to miss with events filling your schedule all day! So many options to choose from, Old Vines is hosting another fantastic cocktail class, the Brick Store Museum is hosting a special exhibition; Love in Kennebunkport, where guests can learn about the lives of the Kennebunkers of history on a tour through the Museum’s galleries and collections storage, along with love stories of some people who have passed through the town. Spend your evening at Batson’s River Brewing & Distillery, they’ve been working on a special beer and they’ll be offering sizzling drink specials all night.
As for other parties that are not to be missed, Saturday the 22nd holds Old Vine’s 3rd annual legendary winter party, Avalanche. A winter event in the Kennebunks that locals will be talking about through Spring!
Closing out the festivities, the Kennebunk Land Trust are hosting a Snow Stroll, where you can enjoy a beautiful morning exploring on a guided naturalist walk.
