Pumpkin Patches & Apple Picking

What would a fall getaway in Maine be without apple picking and pumpkin patches? Starting in late September, many of the local farms open for the season to welcome guests from across the state to explore their land. Just a short walk from our inn, guests can head over to Patten’s Farm with their loved ones to pick pumpkins and enjoy a delicious cup of warm apple cider. The Seashore Trolley Museum is also a great option, as they offer a delightful trolley ride to their patch where visitors can choose their favorite pumpkin or squash. If you’re interested in visiting either one of these seasonal farms during your fall getaway, make sure to check their websites or ask us upon arrival for more information regarding ticket prices and hours.

Stunning Fall Sunset Sails

While every season offers unique activities, fall is one of our favorites because you get the opportunity to experience everything summer has to offer without the crowds. This includes getting out on the water for a private sunset sailboat cruise and seeing the autumn foliage from a whole new vantage point. While the temperatures in the area start to cool down, the water is at its warmest, making for a wonderful vacation by the water. Some other aquatic activities to consider include kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, lobster tours, and more! After a day of fun-filled activities on the coast, head back to your warm and comfy room for a quiet night in.

Breathtaking Autumn Foliage

Last, but certainly not least, guests can experience the spectacular Maine fall foliage! While the array of colors start to make their appearance on the trees during the last week of September, they are in full effect mid-October. Shades of red, yellow, orange, green, and brown paint the New England hillside, making for a memorable viewing experience. We always recommend grabbing a bike or your hiking shoes and heading to the forested Eastern Trail where you’ll get beautiful views, fresh air, and a little bit of exercise. After you take in the unforgettable scenery, you can head back to your room and cozy up by the fire or take a relaxing hot bath to unwind.
